The Government target for attendance is 96%, which we are falling short of in 2025-26.
We are also above the National average for persistent absence with 19.4% of the school community being below 90%.
WE CAN DO BETTER FOR OUR CHILDREN AND YOU HAVE OUR FULL SUPPORT.
Regular school attendance is one of the strongest predictors of a student’s success. Every lesson builds on the last, and missing even a single day can mean lost knowledge, reduced confidence, and gaps that are difficult to close. Being present in school ensures that students stay on track academically while also developing essential life skills such as responsibility, time management, and resilience.
Attendance is about more than just grades. School is a place where friendships are formed, teamwork is practised, and communication skills are strengthened. These experiences cannot be replicated at home and play a vital role in shaping well-rounded, confident individuals.
We understand that occasional absences are unavoidable, but prioritising attendance wherever possible gives every student the best chance to thrive. By working together—students, parents, and staff—we can create a culture where showing up every day is valued, supported, and celebrated.
