Our average attendance this year is 94%.

Our average attendance this year is currently between 95-96%. The Government's ambition for school attendance is 96%, meaning we still have work to do to ensure every child gets the most from their education.

We are also concerned that 12.7% of our pupils are currently classed as persistently absent, meaning they have attended school for less than 90% of the time this year.

Regular school attendance is one of the strongest predictors of a child's success. Every lesson builds on previous learning, and missing even a single day can result in gaps in knowledge, reduced confidence and missed opportunities to develop alongside their peers. Being in school every day helps children achieve academically while also developing important life skills such as resilience, responsibility, independence and teamwork.

Attendance is about much more than academic achievement. School is where friendships are formed, social skills are developed and children learn to work collaboratively with others. These experiences play a vital role in helping children become confident, happy and well-rounded individuals.

We understand that there will be times when absence is unavoidable due to illness or exceptional circumstances. However, wherever possible, we ask families to prioritise school attendance and work with us to ensure children are in school every day they can be.

By working together, parents, children and staff can create a positive culture where good attendance is valued, supported and celebrated.
