At Fulwood & Cadley Primary School, the safety and wellbeing of our pupils, staff, parents and visitors is our highest priority. We are committed to maintaining a secure, welcoming environment where children can learn and thrive.
The school grounds are secured during the day with perimeter fencing and gated access points. Cameras cover the whole perimeter of the school site.
All external doors and gates remain locked or supervised once pupils have entered for the school day.
Visitors can only enter the building via the main reception entrance, which is monitored throughout the day.
All visitors must report to reception, sign in, and wear a visitor badge at all times.
Staff & children are trained to challenge anyone not wearing appropriate identification.
Contractors working on site are required to follow safeguarding and health & safety protocols.
Staff are on duty at the start and end of the school day, as well as during breaks and lunchtimes.
Pupils are only released to authorised adults; any changes to collection arrangements must be communicated with the school office.
All staff receive safeguarding training and understand their responsibilities in keeping children safe.
Fire evacuation and lockdown drills are practised regularly with pupils and staff.
The school has clear procedures in place for managing medical and security incidents.
Risk assessments are carried out for school activities, visits, and the general site environment.
We ask parents and carers to support our school security by:
Using the main reception entrance when visiting during the school day.
Not holding doors or gates open for others.
Reporting any concerns about site security or safeguarding to the school office immediately.
