Site security

At Fulwood & Cadley Primary School, the safety and wellbeing of our pupils, staff, parents and visitors is our highest priority. We are committed to maintaining a secure, welcoming environment where children can learn and thrive.

Site Security

  • The school grounds are secured during the day with perimeter fencing and gated access points.  Cameras cover the whole perimeter of the school site.

  • All external doors and gates remain locked or supervised once pupils have entered for the school day.

  • Visitors can only enter the building via the main reception entrance, which is monitored throughout the day.

Visitor Procedures

  • All visitors must report to reception, sign in, and wear a visitor badge at all times.

  • Staff & children are trained to challenge anyone not wearing appropriate identification.

  • Contractors working on site are required to follow safeguarding and health & safety protocols.

Supervision and Safeguarding

  • Staff are on duty at the start and end of the school day, as well as during breaks and lunchtimes.

  • Pupils are only released to authorised adults; any changes to collection arrangements must be communicated with the school office.

  • All staff receive safeguarding training and understand their responsibilities in keeping children safe.

Emergency Procedures

  • Fire evacuation and lockdown drills are practised regularly with pupils and staff.

  • The school has clear procedures in place for managing medical and security incidents.

  • Risk assessments are carried out for school activities, visits, and the general site environment.

Working Together

We ask parents and carers to support our school security by:

  • Using the main reception entrance when visiting during the school day.

  • Not holding doors or gates open for others.

  • Reporting any concerns about site security or safeguarding to the school office immediately.
