Our School Day

The school day starts at 8.50am and doors will be open from 8.40am.  The doors will close at 8.50am and pupils who arrive after that time must go through the office and sign in as late. Registration is at 8.50am.  The end of the day is 3.20pm although there is a trial in place whereby Reception pupils finish at 3.15pm to try and ensure safer handovers.  This amounts to a typical school week of 32.5 hours.

Morning playtimes

Children in Classes 4 & 5 have a morning break from 10.00 – 10.15 and Classes 6 to 11 have a break from 10.30 to 10.45.

Lunch

Children from Reception to Y6 begin their break at 12.00pm and end it at 1.00pm.

Afternoon playtimes:

Classes 4, 5 & 6 have a break from 2.15 to 2.30 and Classes 1, 2 & 3 from 2.30 to 2.45

Drop-off and collection

At the beginning of the school day the external doors in to school will be open and staffed from 8.40am so that all pupils can come straight in to school and get settled.

If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know. This avoids any confusion or upset.  Please note parents must not use the school car park at any time.

To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike-racks. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely and not on the school staff car park.
